Today and tomorrow, the Dalai Lama's special envoys Lodi Gyaltsen Gyari and Kelsang Gyaltsen are to meet representatives of the Chinese government for the seventh round of talks. In a press statement published today on the website of the Tibetian exile government, they announced the meeting.
Present talks are the continuation of a process started in 2002, aiming to "contribute in resolving the long simmering issue through dialogue in the interest of stability, unity and harmony of all nationalities in the People's Republic of China. Talks are hosted in Bejing. A positive outcome could be crucial to maintaining the peace in Tibet during the Olympic games in august.
